In this detailed field report Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights (Al Mezan) reports on military attacks carried out in the Gaza Strip in the period 14 November 2012 – 21 November 2012. The attacks listed were researched and verified by Al Mezan’s team of fieldworkers who are based in each of Gaza’s five districts. The attacks are listed in chronological order.
Hostilities commenced with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot dead a 13-year-old boy as he was playing football in the town of Khuza’a in Khan Younis district on 8 November 2012, during an incursion into Gaza that lasted for two days. In another IOF attack, at approximately 5 pm on Saturday 10 November 2012, the IOF fired artillery shells at a water reservoir, also in the town of Khuza’a eastern Khan Younis. The reservoir was about 800 meters from the separation fence between Gaza Strip and Israel. The shelling injured 11 Palestinian civilians, including four women and two children.
